The Research Manager position is an excellent opportunity to join one of the leading specialist pharmaceutical global market research agencies.  Established in 1987, the Company has undergone a number of stage changes, which has resulted in it being seen as one of the most recognized and respected global market research providers to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.  The organization operates a highly flexible global business model which helps to ensure a high degree of client awareness internally and client services externally.  The company is an expert in ad-hoc market research, both qualitative and quantitative with particular expertise in brand-development research, and is solely active in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. 

This position will work remotely, preferably from NY, NJ, or PA.  Estimated US / EU travel for research is 20-25%.

This is a very interesting, challenging role working virtually in the US in an exciting company that is growing fast.  The Research Manager is integral to the research team with main focus to lead, manage and help deliver successful, insightful research projects you will be assigned to, resulting in repeat business from those clients.  The role reports to a Research Director based in the US with opportunities to work in different teams and varied therapy areas.  There is a wealth of expertise in the company and lots of scope to work with these experts to grow and develop and learn from them.  The company’s focus is for everyone to progress as quickly as possible and grow in their role. 

  • Work as leader or manager on multiple projects at one time
  • Together with the Project Team, deliver projects on time, within budget and to client satisfaction.
  • Participate in discussions regarding selection of service suppliers and freelancers.
  • Manage all project resources including staff, freelancers and costs.
  • Develop and maintain good communication with the client from briefing meeting to debrief and final report.
  • Decide on the approach and methodologies in order to fully meet the client's requirements.
  • Write the proposal for the client, involving others as necessary, and responsible for delivering the final proposal to the client.
  • Set up and decide on projects in terms of costings, resourcing, and decide with Field on supply costs and choice of supplier.
  • Brief agencies and freelancers, ensuring adequate control remains with the company.
  • Write and deliver final discussion guides / questionnaires utilising input from the team where necessary.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with individuals and moderate focus groups (often client viewed.
  • Organise and attend client-viewed field work alone (domestically and internationally) and resolve client related issues.
  • Direct the analysis of the project data and run the "brain bash", ensuring that all objectives are fulfilled by the research.
  • Write and deliver the debrief document and final presentation ensuring that the team contribute when necessary, both for client satisfaction and staff development.
  • Present the final results to the client using relevant members of the team but maintaining accountability for the content and presentation.
  • Ensure that all outputs delivered to the client from the project are of the highest standards within the constraints of deadlines and budgets.

Experience Required:
  • A minimum of 4  years experience working in a market research agency with time spent with a pharmaceutical focus
  • Client-side experience an advantage
  • An expert in ad-hoc qualitative and quantitative market research techniques (weighting on qualitative)
  • Multiple therapeutic experience. Rare disease a plus
  • Ability to deliver high quality standards to clients
  • Strong knowledge of market research methodologies
  • A good understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
